• I’ve been running wump blog for only 3 or 4 months and am thinking I’m about ready to make the upgrade from version 1.01 to 1.2. However, the readme has got me a little bit scared. It says:
“be careful not to overwrite anything imporant”
Any clues how to avoid making that mistake? What files do I most need to watch out for? I’ve only added a few hacks to the original (recent comments/smilies for example). The files I’ve tweaked most have been index.php and wp-layout.css. I probably could just upload the other files — but I’m making sure first. I also confess I am not sure what file actually contains the material in my past posts — so I’d like to make sure not to lose that one. Sorry to be such a newbie.

  • We can’t answer that for you. Just do a backup of all files and then you will have “no worries” if something important is copied over. That being said, I would imagine from what you said the index file and css are the biggies. If you don’t know what files you have tweaked, look at the dates on ’em. Good luck!

    yup backup is a biggie.
of the wordpress folder and the database.
and aviod uploading the files u have manually modified. index and the css file as beel suggested!
