I am updating a WordPress site that’s a couple years old. It has footnotes v1.6.6. Will there be any issue upgrading to the current 2.7.3? Are there any incompatible changes to shortcodes?

The breaking change that triggered the major version number increment is in the reference container layout losing the arrow column, but the layout with the extra arrow column is available as an option provided that identical footnotes are not combined.

Beside that, I’m not aware of any remaining upgrading issues.

No, the delimiter codes still default to double parentheses. That is something we were very careful to maintain.

Thank-you for the detailed reply. The upgrade went smoothly.
