Upgraded WordPress: condition now shows editing pages blank

    I’m encountering an issue with blank editing pages after having updated WordPress.

    Current status is latest version 4.7.2 and a functioning website, with Edit Page View showing all content as blank.
    Of note:
    — The editing tools menu is also missing.
    — Clicking the ‘Add Media’ button does nothing
    — Attempting to switch to Text mode from Visual mode does nothing beyond a brief dimming of the tab
    Actions attempted:
    — Creating a new page yields same: no editing, add media, tools, or text view possible.
    — Activating an alternate theme does show the page content and is editable… reactivating back to the desired theme is blank with working site.

    Other variable to note is having installed and run UpdraftPlus prior to the upgrade for assistance with backing up.

    Purchase of the theme dates from 2013… not sure if I shouldn’t expect a reply from the developer on how to reinstall theme…

    All worked fine before the upgrade, though reverting to the backup brings me back to running a few generations old WordPress.

    Thank you in advance for thoughts on ways to proceed.

    Activating an alternate theme does show the page content and is editable… reactivating back to the desired theme is blank with working site.

    This suggest your theme is the error.

    What theme are you using?

    Where did you download it from?

    I am having all the same issues as above.

    It’s not the theme because I am using a different theme and have all the same issues.

    I’m not so sure about the theme, our issues may be similar in result and different in cause…
    I looked into email records and found what I needed to reach the developer’s selling place/ envato market
    There I found the Theme has gone thru a number of updates —?I’m running v4.3.0 and the update history shows many versions since, now v4.6.4.

    I have a message out on getting the update.

    To the forum: The site functioned fine before the update; the end-user functionality appears the same now… Is the issue with running WP4.3 one of security? Can I revert? I’m betting that is frowned upon…

    I wanted to complete that I have gotten the issue of blank pages to resolve. It was indeed the WordPress update being incompatible with the existing Theme version —?updating the them… which proved to be a multiday adventure dealing with Envato Market and the theme developer… cleared it up.
