• I just upgraded to WordPress 4.6.1 and now when I go to wp-admin I receive the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_cache_get() in /home/jewishc5/public_html/fedweb/wp-includes/option.php on line 1117

Thanks for your help in advance.

I am wondering it may be something wrong with

/wp-admin/upgrade.php which it is directing me to

    with the following argument: ?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2Fadmin.php%3Fpage%3Dcornerstone-home

If this is not the proper forum for this question please let me know where I should go.

    Thanks,

    daniel

But there is no line 1117 to look at.

Same here – this plugin just crashed my site. Had to delete plugin through cpanel. Up and running but now get this message: “W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/togeth21/public_html/wp-content/db.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/togeth21/public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php.”

This article helped my located some additional files that I deleted and now I think all is well.

    Mike,

Thanks for the information. I am concerned since prior to this occurring, the cache was not deactivated and I can’t get into the backend through wp-admin

You have to go through cpanel to delete the plugin.

    Mike,

Thanks for the link. My problem is that I can’t get to cpanel of wordpress. After the upgrade the site does not let me into wp-adnin. My sense is that it is attempting to direct me to a upgrade page to allow the database be re indexed. But it seems to be stuck in option.php (which I found). option.php is filled with references to wp_cache. It appears to be very integrated into the file so I can’t just comment out the lines that reference it.

I have very limited knowledge but I access my cpanel through my host – not through wp-admin.

Yeah, my provider doesn’t have that.

    Neither mine have it..

How do we solve this? I have exactly the same problem. Just upgraded, like 10 mins ago, and I cannot even try to increase the default memory, which is actually 64M. Please help us, thank you!

Do you people know any way to get someone inside wp to manually increase our memory amounts?

Hey everyone, I solved my problem. Let me try to help you here (sorry for the bad english):

1 – Use this website to find your server: https://who.is/
It will feed you back with a lot of information on your website and hosting service.
Find the “nserver” field. Mine is nserver: ns3.minas.com.br
I got the phone contact to minas.com.br at google.

2 – After finding your server and contacting the support, ask them to increase the amount of memory available to your website at their server. They put mine at 300MB.

3 – If they can’t help you immediately, ask them what’s the main email to your website. They’ll probably ask you to send an email from this address asking for the memory increase, just to formalize the process.
*That CAN have additional cost to your hosting service. Mine didn’t.

If your page has many plugins, additional themes, images, videos and anything that needs storage space, even for testing, it WILL compromise your available space at the webhost.

Again, sorry for the bad english. Hope I could help =)
