  • I had the same problem after updating to the newest version. My site crashed as well. I went into the weptile folder using FTP and renamed it. I was then able to get back into my admin screen and delete the plugin. This restored the site minus the slides that I had using Weptile.

The renaming of the folder was from a suggestion that I received from the Facebook Group “WordPress for Business” if you are not a member it would be a good idea to join. The members have a wealth of knowledge and are willing to share.

This is the error message I received after the upgrade. Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/11/10079511/html/wp-content/plugins/weptile-image-slider-widget/weptile-image-slider-widget.php on line 856

Yeah, wish I had an older version of this plugin, version 1.4 was working with WP 4.22…

Hoping the plugin author will jump on this tread with a fix.

    Hi Uwhoosh and TFBADMIN,

Thank you both for reporting the issue. We haven’t noticed this in our own testing so we’re glad that you’ve noted this.

We’ve scheduled to check this and fix it early next week. We’ll post an update next week with a fix for this according to our schedule.

Your’ problem seems to be happening because your servers are using an older version of PHP. The function which gave the error is introduced in PHP5.3 so I assume your server PHP versions ar eboth 5.2 or older.

We’ve now updated the plugin with a fix to your issue no matter which PHP version is used. However I still recommend asking your hosting support to increase your PHP versions.

Please update your plugins and your error should be fixed now.
