  • Try and reset your permalinks switch to default and save see if they work if they do switch back custom structure.

    Just month and post:
    /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/

Have you checked that mod_rewrite is running on your server?

I haven’t changed any server settings and … not sure where that is.. i’m logged into cpanel right now.. looking for it

Try asking your hosts. It’s a server configuration setting.

Just spoke with my host..Host gator. Apache mod rewrite is enabled. and he checked my htaccess file. Still getting the 404 errors when month and date is selected. Default settings work BUT The urgency has now escalated as i’ve lost 1000 percent of my traffic due to this.. HostGator did say that it could be an conflict with server settings BUT… He wasn’t sure what it could be and recommended i post again on this forum for more help and perhaps a specific recommendation.

thanks for any help you can give!

OH and i just updated to 3.1.1 in hopes that that may fix the permalink issue.. but it did not…

did you try and rename .htaccess file and then reset your permalinks let wordpress create a new .htaccess file.
