Upgraded to 3.3.1 and can't upload images. Tried everything. Desperate.

    Hi guys,

    i really need your help. I run a big blog and i just updated to 3.3.1 and switched to a new theme.
    The problem is that when i run the media-uploader i can upload an image but then when i choose “insert into post” the dialog box disappears and nothing happens on the visual editor!

    1) I updated the browsers (i tried all the browsers) and the flash player (i tried also the normal uploader). I cleared the cache too…
    2) I disabled ALL the plugins. Nothing.
    3) I manually reinstalled wp. Nothing.
    4) I deleted the htaccess file. Nothing.
    5) i optimized the db. Nothing.

    BUT if i switch back to the default wp theme it works!

    What i’ve to do with this new theme? What i’ve to change?
    I’m really desperate.

  • Which theme (name) causes the problem ?
    Have you tried to get in contact with the developer of the theme ?

    Yes, i’m waiting an answer from him…but i need to post something and i would like to find a solution. It’s the first time i’ve this problem.

    Which is the connection between the wp media-uploader and a theme?
    How is possible to have this problem with a theme and not with another one?

    As this is a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s vendors.

    The media-uploader is a wordpress tool and not a feature of a specific theme.
    The uploader works (the image is on the server) but when i click “insert into the post” the uploader disappears and nothing happens on my visual/html editor.

    I can write text on the wysiwyg but i can’t upload images.
    It’s so strange. I really think that is a wordpress bug…isn’t it?

    Themes can, and sometimes do, adversely impact a site’s Admin area. If the problem vanished when you switched themes, then the theme is the culprit.

    Esmi, you are right. I jsut found a problem with a function on the theme.
    It’s first time i see an error like this one. Good to know.

    Go to the media link in your wp settings and enter the path to your uploads folder. You may also have to set your permissions to write as it could vary with different servers. This is how I fixed my problem.
