• I first tried upgrading to 3.0.2 automatically after logging into the control panel and seeing an update was available. When the process was finished both the back and front ends of my site were broken with a PHP error. I reuploaded all the new files manually via FTP which brought the front-end back, but now I just get a blank page when trying to access wp-admin.

What can I do to troubleshoot what’s gone wrong?

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-running the upgrade manually using /wp-admin/upgrade.php.

I tried running /wp-admin/upgrade.php and got an error message on /wp-admin/includes/post.php which looks like it hadn’t been uploaded properly. Reuploading fixed the problem. ??

    Excellent! ??
