Hi all. I just upgraded a site which is hosted on a MS IIS server and all went reasonably OK, but when trying to view the site you get an “Authentication Required” message asking you to sign into the server. If you click “cancel” it bypasses the dialogue box and off you go. A pain to say the least. Here is the site….

Any ideas? The host administrator mentioned that the first thing to load is the “includes” files / folders. I have adjusted the permissions to read / write for the files to render properly. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  • Looks like an IIS authentication issue rather than something WordPress would have caused. Are you running any authentication or firewall type plugins?

Hi, thanks for the speedy reply.
The only plugins are Akismet, countdown timer, NextGEN Gallery and a wunderground.com Weather Sticker, so I can’t see these being any trouble. So far, I am blaming the server and not WP, because I have to sign into the server, then I am good to go.

Between the server administrator and I, the issue is resolved. Thanks.
