Upgraded to 2.8 and can’t upload images

  • I just upgraded to 2.8, and now I can’t upload images. When I try, it tarts uploading them, then instead of showing the file after it’s compressed, it asks me to log-in again for each of the images I’m trying to upload. When I try to sign in, nothing happens. Any ideas?

    The Flash uploader is the only one I’m having problems with. The browser uploader is fine, but will take forever when trying to ad a 12-20 pic gallery. Any help would be appreciated.

    If you are using Gears with WordPress, and Firefox, try disabling Gears.

    Unfortunately, that didn’t work. I’m using Google Chrome. Everything worked fine before upgrading.

    I have same problem.

    Google Gears works good with WP2.8, maybe new flash uploader has a new bug?

    I’ve been finding loads of issues with 2.8 now. Best solution? Stick with what works: 2.7.1.

    I have the same problem. If I use the normal upload it works, but I need the flash uploader!! Maybe is a problem from the flash version?

    With all due respect to the people who work hard on this project, so far, I don’t like any of the changes made between 2.7.1 and 2.8. I still haven’t gotten the above problem fixed I know I’m not the only one looking for help), and there are a lot of other changes – especially in he admin section – I can’t stand. Going back to 2.7.1 right now. Hope you guys get the help you need.

    Yep, the upload buttons don’t work. Nor do the pop-up admin menus allows show when you hover over them!

    I am using Safari, but have checked in Firefox too.

    WP2.8 looks like a very poorly tested release!!!

    I have down-graded back to WP 2.7.1, WP 2.8 seems poorly tested, I’d recommend staying clear until the point update to fix the rough edges!!!

    This version is BIG BIG trouble!!!!!

    My Dasboard not loading AJAX..for nothing!!!

    I click to Upload and no pop-up opens!!!!!!
    I click at sreensettings and nothing happens!

    AJAX NOT WORKING…IE show JS error.

    Well, I just found out that I have to stick with 2.8 thanks to my hosting company requiring that I keep the latest version of any software I have on the site. So, I really hope they get these bugs fixed.

    I noticed that there are some tag management plugins that were messing with the image uploader in the posts. I disabled them and all was good again.
