upgraded to 2.6 and can’t log back in…

    Hi I just upgraded to 2.6 using the auto upgrade pluging…it got to the phase where it did the database upgrade and now I cannot log back into my wordpress. I’ve tried doing a password reset on the login page of my admin account but it just keep saying “please log in again”

    HELP!!!!!!

    Clear your browser cookies. Then log in.

    Still doesn’t let me login.

    I did the same thing. Still no dice. Why is this marked Resolved?

    This seems to be a very major problem with cookies, why is it marked resolved? I am experiencing a similar problem in the MU2.6 beta as well.

    This is still happening… but only in Firefox. I think the re-direct and firefox don’t like each other.

    Threads are marked resolved when the thread starter marks them as resolved. There is no other reason beyond that.

    And so far, clearing cookies works on all cases I’ve seen. If you have a case where it doesn’t, and can debug why, we’d be glad to hear from you. I have been unable to duplicate any problem along these lines that clearing cookies will not fix.

    Also, if one browser works and another doesn’t, then clearing cookies on the one that does not work will *absolutely* fix your problem.

    Firefox: Tools->Clear Private Data. Check cookies, hit clear button.
    IE7: Tools->Delete Browsing History->Delete Cookies button.

    Well, it didn’t work with me. I’m using IE6 at work and tried it a lunch. Nothin’. I’m having my hosting company activate the backup so that I can go back to 2.5.1. I’ll wait until 2.6 is more stable. Too many serious issues that I don’t have time to mess with. This has already taken 10 hours of my time that I can’t spare, and because of the messed up look of my site, I don’t know how many people have been turned off.

    Poor testing. No other upgrade had this effect on me.

    Otto42, when I try to login, I accepts my login, then redirects me back to the login page. I tried to clear my cookies and reset Safari 5 time and even tried the thing with @define(‘ADMIN_COOKIE_PATH’, ‘/’); and no dice! This is VERY frustrating! Please! Anyone! HELP ME!!!

    Clearing the cookies does not let me back in via Safari, Camino, or FF (on a Mac).

    I was having the same problem, clearing cookies did not work for me either. After the auto-upgrade finished, the log in page appeared and you know the deal, kept redirecting back to log in. By accident, I noticed that the “admin log out” button was visible on my home page. Clicking that solved the problem, I was able to log in again.
