I attempted to upgrade my Text Link Ads plugin via the auto-upgrade (which has always worked for me) and got a fatal error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_get_sidebars_widgets() in /home/jukegrad/jukeboxgraduate.com/wp/wp-content/plugins/text-link-ads/textlinkads.php on line 150

I can’t obviously go disable the plugin because I can’t get back into the panel, at all. I just get the same error.

Is my only option to restore my site from my last good backup?

  • Hi,

It seems that your plugin is not compatible with your wordpress version. Hence, you need to either remove it rename it from your blog. You can disable plugin either from database or from FTP service of your domain.

    Thanks,

    Hi Shane,

Thanks so much for answering. I am a database idiot, and don’t want to mess things up further. Can you point me at something that can help me figure out how to do this step by step, or give me some more pointers?

    Thanks again.

Nevermind – I figured it out.

For anyone else who is a newbie, I ftp’d into the site, and renamed the plugin directory by adding a 1 to the end of the name. Saved it, and voila. The site is back.

    Thank you again for responding!

what version of wordpress where you using? i am adding a case in there but would be good to test out with the version you have.

please download 3.4.6 this should be fixed.
