    Hello,

I updated the plugin today to version 7.5 and have run into multiple issues. WordPress is up to date with version 4.9.8.

    The issues are:
    1. When trying to edit any page, I get the following error: Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /usr/www/users/ifcs/wp-content/plugins/maxbuttons/classes/maxbuttons-class.php on line 497

I get this error from trying to access the page on the back end from the list of pages as well as on the front end after clicking edit.

    2. When clicking to dismiss the pro message, “do not show me this anymore,” I get a blank screen and can’t refresh to get to the back-end. I have to go to the login page and try to go back in.

I deactivated all other plugins and still have the error. When I deactivate your plugin, I don’t get the error.

Is it possible there is a conflict with the new update?

    Thanks.
    Tim

Seems it’s not so simple. Are you using some kind of page builder included with the theme or otherwise? Could you let me know which one it is?

    Also refering to

‘2. When clicking to dismiss the pro message, “do not show me this anymore, ‘

Which message is that exactly? Is this coming from the plugin, your theme or WordPress ?

On any of those message, the full stack of errors would be quite welcome. Perhaps it’s visible on the browser screen, under F12 (developers console) or via the servers error log.

-Update It tried the widget editor that comes with your theme, but I was still unable to see any errors using it.

There is an update on the way that should fix it. Could you check your PHP version for me? I suspect you are running (still) version 5.3.

This version is end of life for more than five years already, and we’ll be dropping support in the future for it. I strongly recommend upgrading to PHP 7.x, the newer version is also many times faster than the old ones.

    Hello,

Found the updated plugin today and this fixed the issue.

FYI – yes a framework. Options Framework specifically. PHP – 5.3.29.

Good point on upgrading the PHP. I’ll do that today.

The other box was a plugin box for, I guess, another plugin. It kept crashing, so I assumed it was for your plugin. The box is gone and now there are no issues.

The error was specific for PHP 5.3, an oversight here so that was fixed. It’s likely other stuff was influenced by it as well. Thanks for letting me know though!
