Just upgraded from 2.8 to 3.0 and nothing works. Every time I try to access plugin via administration dashboard, this error is displayed:

There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

    And I get this email:

Hey! Thanks for the report! We are already working on releasing version 3.0.1 where it will be fixed. Fix will be released within 10 minutes.

I knew it was risky to upgrade to a major new release right after it was published, but your reply seems to be super-fast and promising. Thanks for quick response.

    Hey again,

Thanks for the wait and apologies for the bug. We have tested this update a lot this week, very sorry that this bug slipped through!

We have now released version 3.0.1 which should fix the bug you were experiencing.

So you should see the 3.0.1 update in the dashboard soon. If this is not the case, try uninstalling and re-installing Buttonizer, seems that the 3.0.0 update on WP also got the fix already (probably the reason we don’t see the version number going up).

Let me know if this fixed the issue! If you are experiencing anything else, please let us know! ??

Just to be sure – if I uninstall plugin and re-install it, all the settings will remain in place, right?

Yes, they should stay the same ??

I think there’s something wrong with version numbering. WP repository still displays it’s version 3.0, but after clicking Download button, it downloads file buttonizer-multifunctional-button.3.0.1.zip

So I downloaded this file, manually re-uploaded it and plugin started working. But it still says v3.0, not sure why it’s so.

P.S. I see that all the options are not available in v3 by default, and it only displays “Start Migrating” button (which redirects to some signup form). Does it mean I can’t use Buttonizer without creating an account with you?

    Hey again,

    Thanks for letting us know!

We’re going to release an update with a couple of more fixes soon anyway, so hopefully WordPress versioning picks up this version correctly ??

P.S. I see that all the options are not available in v3 by default, and it only displays “Start Migrating” button (which redirects to some signup form). Does it mean I can’t use Buttonizer without creating an account with you?

Regarding migrating, that’s for our new standalone platform which we released about half a year ago (but wasn’t available via WordPress yet).

Of course, it’s not mandatory and skippable. The WordPress-only version did not get any less features and will work just as before!

However, the idea behind the standalone is that it’s easier to work on new features across all platforms (as we’re now also available for Shopify as well) and maintain one single code base across our platform. Users can now manage multiple Buttonizer instances with one single account.

We also want to build more advanced features soon (such as privacy friendly conversion analytics) and optimize Buttonizer even further so the experience is much faster (without making WordPress sites slower with more advanced features).

If you have any questions, feedback or ideas, make sure to let us know! We really appreciate your feedback ??

Thanks, that was one of the fastest responses and fixes from software developer I ever experienced.

Thanks! We’re very glad to hear that! You were also very quick with replying, so that also helped!

I’ll mark this topic as resolved.

If there’s anything else, let us know. Have a great day ??
