    Hi,
    check it out:
    https://img823.imageshack.us/img823/2995/missingjs.jpg

at the top is what I have now when I want to write new post, all the buttons gone and I can not do anything much…

at the bottom is what it is supposed to be..

Also other stuff is missing, for example when you mouseover “Posts” in a dashboard you should get a drop down (to the right) of whats inside, I do not get that dropdown..

So something is wrong with my upgrade, what parts are missing here? How to fix it?

When I updated I used manual upgarde and updated all the files necessary (wp admin, wp includes, root files..)
    Upgrade went well…

Help, as I can not write any posts now without those buttons..

I have to ask the question: What version did you update from?

    I updated from WordPress 3.1.4. to 3.4.2

But since I deleted and uploaded 100% fresh wpadmin, wpincludes directories and root files (did not update content as there are only themes I do not use) nothing should be gone… All files are fresh, buttons should be there..

Did you make a pre-upgrade database backup? That was too large an upgrade to make safely in a single step.

Unfortunately not, as I was updating blogs this way all the time and all went well…
Is it a way I can get these buttons back?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

This is exactly what I did. Will try those other things…
