• I have tried some of the basic tricks; renamed the plugin folder and theme to check for conflicts. I still get a blank page for site/wp-admin/

Weep. Everything was working just fine before I tried to upgrade :[
Someday, I will learn to leave well enough alone. Meanwhile, I’d love to know how to get the dashboard back.

Someone recommended putting “php_value memory_limit 64M” in the htaccess file — tried without success, but that makes me wonder if I need to go back to the last 2.x version I used? Maybe the ISP doesn’t support the added memory requirements?

    Any other suggestions?

  • Your upgrade may not have completed successfully.

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – re-running the upgrade manually using wp-admin/upgrade.php.

    I reinstalled everything but content.
The plugins folder is still “renamed”

I tried to open site/wp-admin/upgrade.php, but only get an

Something in htaccess file is the bug. Haven’t figured out which line, but maybe I’ll just leave it turned off for a while.
