Upgrade to Premium version

    Hi,

    I’m using the free version but need to track the events like add to cart en begin checkout, which are not included in the free version.

    Can I just purchase the Premium version and install it without overwriting the purchase and view item events tags that are already in GTM? And should I remove the free plugin in WooCommerce first before installing the Premium plugin or can I just overwrite the free plugin with the premium version without losing the settings that are already set?

    Thanks for your interest.

    To upgrade from the free version to the pro version, do the following:

    In WordPress, you must deactivate the free plugin and activate the pro plugin.

    In GTM, you must replace all previously imported tags and re-add your GA4 ID.

    Hi Heitor,

    Thank you for your reply. I have one more question. You said “In GTM, you must replace all previously imported tags and re-add your GA4 ID.”, but how do you mean exactly? Should I remove for example the tag “GA4 – Event – view_item” (that came with the free version) before I do Google Tag Manager > Admin > Import Container ?

    Hello @michielschenkius

    When importing tags you can choose the option: Overwrite, and GTM will replace it for you as the TAGs have the same name.

    In any case, if you want to remove the current tags before importing the new ones, there will be no problem, both ways will work.
