When I updgrade from 4.0.7 to 5.0.7 I get the following error on front end and dashboard:

Warning: strpos(): Empty needle in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sg-cachepress/core/Htaccess/Htaccess.php on line 106

I tried disabling all other plugins, but the error still persists.

    A bit more info:

    Wordpress version is 4.9.8
    PHP is 7.0.32

Any ideas what could be causing the error?

    Any help much appreciated.

That’s because you’re accessing your site via ipaddress/~cpaneluser. Anyway, we have added a patch for that bug in 5.0.8 which will be released later today or tomorrow.

Thanks Hristo –?great to know what’s causing it. I’ll wait for the patch.

    Many thanks,
    Dan

I’ve just attempted to install a new WordPress site (also using ipaddress/~cpaneluser) and run into the same issue. I was able to access the site after removing the caching plugin.
