Just upgraded my site to latest wordpress.

Site appears fine and says i have upgraded to 351 on dashboard but it has gone all screwy and i cannot do anything with it.

I know there is a bit of info already out there on dashboard going funny but i cant work it out. its a bit over my head. all my plugins were deactivated before the upgrade (which i did manually folowing step by step instructions) and remain deactivated.

i have cleared the cache and tried another browser.
i also read something about deleting the index file in plugins and tried this with no luck.

I dont know what to try next?

  • Switch over to the default WordPress theme and see if your dashboard works. Use FTP/ hosting control panel and add -hold to your current theme to change theme, if you cannot change at your dashboard.

I was able to change themes but this dosnt help.

In that case, the WP installation may either be broken or having files of previous versions. Try to reinstall WordPress manually from a freshly downloaded copy except wp-content. Do not overwrite files/ folders but delete them before reinstalling.

    An update:

Despite uploading the files several times it wouldnt work. i then noticed that in my host account, alot of the files were missing, even though they appear via ftp. So i contacted the host and they fixed it pronto.

    Thanks for the help!

    Welcome! ??
