    Hi,

I updated my site to the 3.4.37 version this morning and was shocked to see my site in very poor condition. It seems that all of the customizations got stripped.

Please see screenshots here of the site before making the theme update:

And here are screenshots of what the site looked like after the update:

I had to restore the site from a backup to fix this. Can you tell me what’s happening here? Why would all the customization (including custom CSS!!) get removed during a super minor theme update (3.4.36 > 3.4.37)??

  • Hi,

    Please refer to the changelog.
    https://presscustomizr.com/customizr-pro-v1-2-38-and-customizr-free-v3-4-37-release-note/

There is no impact to custom css.

If you are using a cache plugin, it could be a cache content issue.
Please clear your cache plugin’s cache content after theme update.

Or do a plugin conflict check.

    Thank you

    Hi,

I do have caching plugins and also run the site through a CDN, however, I can’t tell you how many times I cleared all of that cache to still find my site without any customization.

I’m also not sure how I’m going to be able to do a plugin conflict check… as soon as I update the theme, all customization is gone. Do you really think disabling plugins is going to bring customizations back? How would a plugin be able to remove all customizations from our theme? Can you explain this?

    Thank you!!!

    First thing,

Go to an online site checker ( I use these to test website responsiveness) , such as : Mobile Test . Me , and view your site on the desktop screen resolutions.

Maybe the issue is with your browser locally?

Also, try viewing your site using other browsers.

I know it’s a long shot, but sometimes with updates, the browser on your machine can act funny, and this is an easy test before you get your hands dirty, looking through logs and code ??

Hm, not sure what happened, but I tried the update again and everything went fine. All customizations stayed as they should. The only thing I did differently is that I updated the theme through the WordPress backend. The first time I tried it, I updated it through the ManageWP app.
