Upgrade theme for only one site

  • I have a multisite with some time-limited campaign sites. I use the same theme at all sites. Now I will add a new site again, and will install an upgraded version of the theme. But I don’t want to upgrade the old sites, only the new one. How do I get updated theme without affecting the old the sites?

  • I assume you are talking about customised themes that you would like to keep.

    The way to do this in wordpress is to keep the customisations in a child theme for each site.

    There are several plugins that can help you keep customisations seperate in the repository.
