• I am a complete newbie and messed up my attempt to upgrade to 2.3.2. I downloaded a copy of 2.3.3 to my desktop and began installing the wp-admin folder to my mounted WebDisk. Apparently things are not where they supposed to be and I am not sure what to do to restore to my previous state to begin ago. Instead of my admin log-in page I get Index of /bblog/wp-admin and all the files listed below. For you folks above newbie status, can you help me out of this mess? TIA.

  • What is your “mounted WebDisk”?
You upgrade (after reading the manul=instructions) by uploading the new files to your host sever. That’s what you are talking about?

How do you upload the files? Which FTP client do you use?
(when a directrory displayes the files – is missing the index.php file)

The WebDisk is a mounted volume of my WordPress files and as I understand it, can update those files from from the downloaded WordPress update to the mounted disk. So it was a drag and drop to replace files. The only folder I had copied to the WebDisk was wp-admin and even then I am not sure I went to where it was supposed to go. I Where is the index.php file supposed to be?

Yep. I screwed up the upgrade also. Alas I seem to be compounding the problem. It can’t find index.php

I thought I’d transfered the old config, but apparently maybe not.

One day we may learn, meanwhile bear with us: Help appreciated!
