When I try to upgrade the free version of the plugin – 2.2.9 to 3.0.0 – on the off-line version of my site, I’m getting the error message “Could not copy file. wordpress-simple-survey/lib/\”.

I’ve upgraded on the live site here, which should at the moment be identical, without any problems. Tried deactivating all my other plugins, but that doesn’t solve the problem. The off-line site is on a serverpress.com Desktopserver [virtual server]. I haven’t experienced any difficulties with other upgrades, or upgrading other plugins.

Is this a bug in your upgrade script, or should I continue looking for an issue my end? Any suggestions most welcome! ??

    Hey Kevin,

There is no “upgrade script”. You just put the new files over the old files, deactivate the plugin and then activate the plugin. The fail-safe is to use FTP or SSH. Try doing that. There have not been any similar complaints on our support form or through support tickets so it is probably on your end. You can open a support ticket and give us your FTP credentials and we can upload the files for you if you prefer.

Hmmm. Am an idiot! Didn’t think of that – too busy trying to find complicated reasons and solutions I guess!

Have downloaded the zip file and replaced the old version manually – it solved the problem immediately.

Many thanks for setting me right! ??

Ok great, glad you got that working.
