Upgrade plugins from WP dashboard don't work

  • Until now, I always upgrade plugins manually (with copy plugin folder to server).
    Previous week I tried to use upgrade feature in WP Dashboard, but it failed. The upgrade process started and finished, but it didn’t work.
    I checked folders on server and noticed that folder name isn’t correct.
    For example – instead of BACKUPWORDPRESS there was a folder with name BACKUPWORDPRESS-RD934 (or something similar).
    Any idea what is wrong?
