Upgrade path from 3.3.4 to 5.3.3

    Hi there,

    I’m currently in the process of upgrading Yoast SEO from version 3.3.4 to 5.3.3. I was wondering what the recommended upgrade path would be? I’ve exported the config from 3.3.4 and imported it into 5.3.3, is this all that’s needed? Would the settings persist in 5.3.3?

    Hello,
    Yes, if you’ve already imported the config details in to 5.3.3 it should work correctly.
    You can also perform a manual install over the 3.3.4 installation, since there is no auto update for older versions, and no setting should have been lost.
    We always recommend you perform a backup of the site in these cases when updating from a very old version to a newer one.
