Upgrade Not Recognized (went from 2.5 to 2.5.1)

  • I attempted to upgrade from 2.5 to 2.5.1 tonight. Everything seemed to go according to plan, but when I logged in, it still says I’m using 2.5. What I did:

    -tried using the automatic upgrade plugin suggested on the upgrade page
    -didn’t receive any errors, but still on 2.5
    -tried deleting files and uploading the new ones using FTP
    -same result: no errors, but still shows as 2.5

    Any ideas?

  • I had the exact same problem! I reran the automatic upgrade several times over the course of the week and still no success.

    Finally, I had a programmer friend of mine do the standard ftp upload upgrade and I still have the problem.

    I have no idea what to do about it. I know that I am on 2.5.1, but I still get the notice ON EVERY PAGE OF MY ADMIN PANEL.

    Seriously, anybody know what’s going on?

    You almost certainly were hacked. You really do have 2.5.1, but the remnants of the hack are causing it to show as 2.5.
