Upgrade issues

Moving to own thread from erroneous posting on existing thread.

Original question:

“This looks like a good place to post my question. This morning (GMT) at 08.09 hrs I was advised that someone had registered as a new user on my network: New User: ermascurry05 Remote IP: 192.227.244.84. I did not see this notification until about 11.00hrs and immediately deleted it and then went to my settings to disable registrations of new users on the network.

I was sure I had not set the network up for registration of new users but I may well be mistaken on this, as would seem very likely.

I then went through housekeeping checking to see if I could spot anything untoward and in the process upgraded to the latest version of WP on my network and two other stand alone sites. That was all completed at 12.00hrs approx.

This evening I started getting notifications through that my web sites had been automatically upgraded to 4.5.1 starting from 20.48hrs.

This appears possibly strange because I manually updated all the sites to 4.5.1. 8 hours earlier and I have never had automatic updates of WP before.

I realise I may be a little over zealous here but thought it worth asking if I have missed something or there is anything else I should check. I would also like to understand why I am being notified of automatic updates when I have manually updated hours previously without receiving any notification mails then.

Any support and info will be most gratefully received.

pebblestudiolondon: No, the best place to post your question is in a new thread. Anyhow. when you upgraded did you upgrade to 4.5.1 or 4.5? 4.5.1 was released about 5 hours ago. (I’m bad at doing GMT conversions in my head, but I think that should have made it at about 19:00 GMT.)

Current: Sorry about misposting (been a very long hard day here and I am desperate to get some sleep). Looks like you are right, summertime now so that would be 20.00 hrs here. However, not had automatic updates before, is there a reason why it has changed?
