• I have just upgraded wordpress (automatically via the dashboard) and it has overwritten my theme.

The theme was a custom design i was building so i was editing the “default” theme.

Is there anyway of getting the old files back?

only if you had a backup

That is a pain in the a**!

Why would an upgrade of wordpress (not a new install) need to add new theme files anyway?

As a suggestion it may be worth putting a warning on the dashbord upgrade page. I have just lost about a weeks worth of work…

It also said to backup all your files and database…

Why wouldn’t you have a local copy?

Have been designing/developing for 1-2 years now but never had anything like this happen. Maybe i should backup more often…

Missed that completely … nevermind i will know for next time ??

just fyi – it only overwrites the classic and default themes as they come with the download
