upgrade has broken my website :(

    hi mr lovecraft – please help!
    just updated to lovecraft 1.18 and wp 4.9.1 and all my widgets have broken completely…
    i’ve switched to a default theme and back again but it’s just not restoring the layout as it was and several plugins no longer work.
    do i need to change any other settings / make other updates etc

    Hi @jason-kickmouth,

    I’ve submitted an update that fixes this issue. It should be live within the hour. You can find your old widgets with the settings stored in the bottom of the Appearance > Widgets page, in the “Inactive widgets” section.

    i was just going to rollback to version 1.17 but i’ll hold fire on that (and hope my client doesn’t notice!)
    incidently – it wasn’t just that the widget areas were broken, several of the basic ones (eg recent posts) just wouldn’t work, and the footer disappeared.
    i’ll let you know once it’s all sorted.

    all apparently back to normal… except my recent posts (widget) are no longer in chronological order – i’ll look into that.
