Upgrade from wordpress-popular-posts-3.0.4-beta-3

    When I did upgrade from wordpress-popular-posts-3.0.4-beta-3 to 3.1 the whole site was going down. Very very …. slow and in many cases “Error establishing a database connection”.

    It seems your script is trying to establish too many simultaneous connections to the database.

    Has I deactivated the plugin (3.1) than the site was up and running again.

    I did a roll-back from 3.1 to 3.0.4-beta-3 and than it works again.

    Hi there,

    That’s odd since version 3.1.0 is mainly a bugfix release (see changelog), there were no changes with the way the plugin updates the statistics.

    Maybe the problem you had is related to this instead?
