@maury1971 – I’m happy to help. What you may want to do is go in via FTP and head to wp-content > plugins – rename the “nextgen-gallery” folder to something like “nextgen-gallery-original”, then move it out to the site root. Once you’ve done that, you can install the new plugin zip through the Dashboard as if it were a brand new plugin. Any settings that apply in the new version will automatically be set, as the database holds them in place for you. If you run into trouble, you can simply replace the folder via FTP with the original.

    I hope this helps,

@maury1971 – Have you tried going under Plugins > Installed Plugins and deactivating and deleting NextGEN Gallery from there. Then going under Plugins > Add New … Search for “NextGEN Gallery” then re-install and re-activate?

If you still get the same error message, please send us a Bug Report (https://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/) so we can get you our external Reset Tool plugin which should eventually sort this issue out for you.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
