    Hi all,

I have been putting this off for a while. I am using the older 1.5.1.3 version of wp. I have read the normal upgrade procedure.. however, I’m wondering if I can do a clean install of 2.0.5 and then import my backup .sql (exported).

The reason I ask is I don’t like the feeling of upgrading the product as I am uneasy that the wp code I am using now is vanilla. I’d feel more at ease with a sparkling new/clean install.

    thanks.

No you cannot, the db schema has changed.

So I cannot do a fresh install with the hope of importing my old posts.

So If I do an ‘upgrade’ from 1.5.1.3 to 2.0.5 using the guidelines posted, are there any shortcomings vs. having a new install?

No you cannot, the database scheme has changed.

Second question: No, the files are the same.
