Upgrade failed…Permission Denie

    I tried to upgrade to 3.0.5, via the “Update Automatically” button on the dashboard, but was presented with the following error message:

    “Warning: copy(D:/Hosting/3079017/html/wp-admin/includes/update-core.php) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:\Hosting\3079017\html\wp-admin\includes\class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200

    Could not copy files.

    Installation Failed”

    this is what is on my current \wp-admin\includes\class-wp-filesystem-direct.php line 200:
    return copy($source, $destination);

    Please advise what I need to do to fix.

  • Download the 3.0.5 package from www.remarpro.com and follow the Manual Upgrade instructions.

    Once you’re done updating your site manually, check to make sure your site is working. If you see a “Maintenance” message instead of your website, then you will need to find the file called .maintenance (in the same folder as your wp-config.php file) and delete it.
