• Timely has decided that they have a better way to update their plug-in by going outside the normal (great, perfectly functional) WordPress update system – their system DOES NOT WORK! I get multiple errors even when following their (contorted) instruction to the letter. Crash! Had to (manually) go back to previous version.
Great calendar, but they need to work within the normal update system. One of the reasons I run Linux is the consolidated update system. Please don’t make WordPress updates like Windows!

  • I do not understand why Timely have this update system either. The standard WordPress system is fine.

The Timely version appears like an ad in admin and looking at posts on this forum detailing crashed sites and lost events calendars it’s too tempting to click that upgrade button and lose lots of work.

My two cents on this – I upgraded to the Pro 1.9.5 version using the manual method because the automatic method (from within the WP dashboard) would not work properly. The manual upgrade worked exactly as it was supposed to with no problems.

If this is the worst problem I have, I’ll be a happy camper.

I manually updated to versian 1.9.5 standard because the automatic method did not work. However now I have a small template conflict with my artisteer generated theme which I did not have in the previous versions ??

    nathair,

I also had a very conflict between my artisteer template and one of my previous versions of ai1ec (I think maybe 1.9.4 or .5). Anyway, I contacted the Artisteer folks and they helped solve the problem within two days.

What, specifically is the problem you’re having? If it’s the same as what I had, I can send you the code Artisteer gave me.

The download link now gives the proper 1.9.5.zip file, and the update went fine except for one admin page freezing on first load (recycled Apache, all worked fine). Automatic method still does not work for me, but I suspect they only allow user “admin” (which I renamed) to do the automatic update…
I *still* don’t understand why they aren’t using the regular update mechanism…. any explanation?

I have downloaded the plugin and when I saw the update green button after the plugin installation my site crashed and gives me this error.

Fatal error: Call to a member function add_cap() on a non-object in /home/ainamalo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar/app/helper/class-ai1ec-platform-helper.php on line 96

How to retrieve my site and disable this plugin……..
