UpdraftPlus warning “problem with outputting extra whitespace”

  • Hi,

    I’m using ColorWay for my website and I think it’s a great theme. However, I’d like to backup my site using UpdraftPlus and it throws out this:

    Warning: Your WordPress installation has a problem with outputting extra whitespace. This can corrupt backups that you download from here.

    I tried to disable my plugins and there was still this warning. It only disappears when I’m switching to another theme. So I guess ColorWay does something that makes UpdraftPlus warn me.

    Does anybody know if my backups are still working?

  • I’m having the same problem with the ColorWay theme. I’ve just written to them to see what they have to say about it.
    Maybe if you write to them too, they’ll take it more seriously?

    There is empty line (first line before <?php) in the file functions/cw-admin-notices-dismissal.php. It breaks sitemaps and downloads. I think that backup (and restore) will work correctly, but if you manually download backup file then it could be corrupted.
