Hi there, thank you for this great plugin. It always worked flawlessly until recently (I use WP 5.8.4 and Updraft 1.22.11). When I try to restore from a FTP backup I get: UpdraftPlus Restore error: 504 Gateway Timeout. The process gets stuck on verifying. I reduced the package size to 25 MB but it didn’t help. I assume there is another reason for this as restoring (with the same settings such as php execution time etc.) always worked without any problems. Thanks for help.

    Hi,

A 504 Gateway error means that your web hosting company deploys a proxy in front of your web server, and that this proxy is having a problem. The only real way to investigate it is to forward the information to the web hosting company, and to ask them what the cause of the error is.

We do offer support packages, please see here for more information: https://updraftplus.com/shop/get-support/
However, we would not be able to fix the 504 error, this is something only your hosting can do,

    Kind Regards,
    Bryle

Ok, let’s see what my provider says. Frank

My hosting company responded: Yes, you can deactivate the proxy. Please be advised that the proxy mode is required from php 7.3 as FastCGI is deployed here.

To me that means I cannot deactivate the proxy without causing problems, thus I cannot use Updraft anymore (at least not the restore backup feature)?

    thanks, Frank

Too bad that I couldn’t solve this error with Updraft. I didn’t want to, but now I have to purchase another plugin. Frank
