UpdraftPlus Backup Fails

  • I’m trying to do a backup with Updraftplus and it says my database table from simple download monitor is too large. I only have a little more than 100 downloads, is there a database utility to clean it up? I need all the downloads and I really need to back up my site.

    Hi, can you provide more information about your issue. For example: How large is the size of your database table? This is the first time someone has reported this.

    Here is the error when the backup fails: “Warning: Table wp_sdm_downloads has very many rows (369148) – we hope your web hosting company gives you enough resources to dump out that table in the backup If not, you will need to either remove data from this table, or contact your hosting company to request more resources.”

    My site https://help.manausa.com/ is only used for downloads, it is so small (less than 20 pages/posts and a hundred or so downloads).

    Thank you for providing that information.

    Would you be able to find out the actual size of your database?

    Are you on a VPN server or a shared server plan? Have you also spoken to the developers of your backup plugin?

    My database is 1010 MB and is hosted with WP Engine. Not sure I understand VPN/Shared, but this is what their site says about my plan:

    GROWTH

    5 sites included

    Up to 100,000 visitors/mo
    20 GB storage
    200 GB bandwidth/mo

    I have not spoken with UpDraftPlus.

    Thank you for the information, that helps a lot. Can you speak to WP Engine support about this issue. The reason why I am asking is because they are very particular about their servers.
