updraft plus sending repeated backup notices

I`ve been using updraft plus on 25 different sites for 10 years.
Recently I migrated from hostgator to a2 and as soon as I got one site online it began sending out repeated notices ( over a 100 ) that the site was being backed up. In actuality, no backups we`re occurring and continued sending notices despite that the send notice box was unchecked. I disable the plugin. No change. I deleted the plugin. It stopped. I reinstalled the plugin, it began again.
Any one have any idea of what`s going on here?
