    I have Updraft Plus backing up to Dropbox.
    I am supporting two WordPress sites for our radio club.
    On each site, I have set the file backup schedule to ‘Daily’ and the number of existing backups to ‘2’ on the ‘Settings’ tabs.
    They are both backing up to the same Dropbox account.
    Every couple of days, I get an error message saying that the backup has failed.
    When I check, it turns out that there are three previous backups and that the Dropbox account doesn’t have room for another backup. I have to delete the older ones to make room for a fresh backup and then manually initiate another backup. This shouldn’t be necessary. Should it not delete the oldest ones to make room for the latest ones? And should each site never show more than two backups?
    I am baffled since each site is set to keep only two backups at a time.
    Does anyone know how I can fix this?

    Hi,

    To help us find out the cause of the issue, can you please send us a copy of the backup log? This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab. The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    I uploaded the contents of the log file to https://mishmash.co/log . You can view it there.

    This morning, I got another message. This time, each site showed only two backups. But when I looked directly at Dropvox, there were far more than that.

    Please let me know.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

    The log shows this “0053.556 (0) Retain: saving new backup history (sets now: 3) and finishing retain operation”

    It only recognises 3 backups from this site. Can you make sure that all the backup is from the same site? Can you also take a screenshot of the “Backup/Restore” tab?

    Hi Fred,

    Apologies for the delay.

    May I know where are you checking the backups on Dropbox? Are you using just the desktop app? or did you visit Dropbox.com website directly? Backup takes time to get synced on your PC.
