Updraft Keeping More Backups Than is Set
-
I am using UpdraftPlus on one of my sites, and when I checked my Google Drive today there were more copies of the backups than I was expecting. I went to the plugin Settings, and verified that I had set both the File and Database backups to run daily and retain the last 3 backups. In the Existing Backups section on the first tab though, 13 backups are shown.
I have seen this on other sites also too, where I set them to retain the last 3 backups, but older backups are not being deleted. At one stage, I got a notification email from Dropbox that I was running out of space and had to manually go in and delete months worth of unneeded backups.
When I delete old backups using the Delete option in the Existing Backups panel of the plugin, both the local and remote copies are deleted, so communication with the Google Drive is working successfully.
What would cause the plugin not to delete local and/or remote copies of backups when it reaches the limit set in Settings?
