Updraft just deleted files from other websites on same Dropbox

    Version: 1.13.12

    just run a backup and for some reason it has deleted all other backups from different sites that are stored on same dropbox!

    I have retain this many scheduled backups: 2

    so I can see what it has done.. it has looked on dropbox as all my backups and deleted ALL but 2..

    when it should be looking at just the backups for this one website…

    Brilliant!

    why would this happen?

    Just found the restore option in dropbox!

    But still need to know why this is happening..

    Hi,

    I would suggest using Dropbox sub-folder add-on to store each site’s backup in different folders.

    Hi, I have faced the same issue with Google Drive backup too. The problem seems to be with the way Updraft’s code is reading the file names : previously it used to check for website, but now it is only seeing datestamp and considering all website names as the same.

    One workaround: Change the settings to retain 100 or so backups. And set this on all of your websites. This will give some breathing room for now.

    I’ll suggest another workaround though I haven’t tried it yet: use IFTTT or similar automation services to copy or move new files coming in that folder elsewhere.

    Question : is there any other free plugin that can do timed backup and move the backup to google drive / dropbox / other location?

    @wordpressforumhelp – if using dropbox – login and look for the restore option.. this will bring them all back hopefully..
