    Hi

Currently your backup Updraft creates several backups, several files.

How can we tell whether it has done a full backup completely please ?

Is there 1 full backup that can be used to RESTORE a backup.

I am not that familiar with your plugin as I am used to Backupbuddy which does full backups.

This client uses Updraft, so I need to ENSURE that the backups are reliable AND that it does a full backup in 1 file for ease of RESTORING in the future ?

    Thanks
    Kristin

  • When my site creates a full backup, it makes the following files:

    *-db.gz <–database
    *-plugins.zip <–plugins
    *-themes.zip <–themes
    *.uploads.zip, *.uploads2.zip, *.uploads3.zip <–uploaded files
    *-others.zip <–other files

My files are exported to Google Drive after the backup and removed from the server, but there are log.*.txt files that remain on the server (2 in my case, because I keep 2 sets of backups). You can check the log files to see what’s being backed up and check for errors.

You can also, if you’ve got decent download speeds and/or sufficient patience, download a set of all the files on your site to your local drive, then download and unzip a copy of the UpdraftPlus files and use something like WinMerge to compare the files.

    Hi @kristinubute

You will see an incomplete label if the backup has failed. Components are also backup separately and you’ll have to select them all if you want to restore everything. We have a step by step restoration guide here – https://updraftplus.com/faqs/restore-site-updraftplus/
