Updating Yoast, stuck for an hour

    I have the latest version of wordpress (previous was 4.9.4), I host with TSO.

    It’s been an hour and the screen is still stating:

    ‘The update process is starting. This process may take a while on some hosts, so please be patient.
    Enabling Maintenance Mode…
    Updating Plugin Yoast SEO (1/1)’

    I checked my website & it’s live so not in maintenance mode.

    Any suggestions as to what to do? Thanks.

    UPDATE:
    WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH ??
    So, after 3 hours and the screen staying the same I returned to my dashboard & it said that I need to update wpcache so I did. It updated really quickly but caused white screen of death.

    I have now disabled wp cache….. any suggestions on what I do next?

    We apologize for any inconvenience. If you deactivate the Yoast SEO plugin on your site, does this resolve the white screen of death issue?
