Updating woocommerce shopping costs when changing the state field only

    The current behaviour of woocommerce is that the shipping costs are updated when the customer has all fields entered (or at least city, address 1 and state for my scenario), this is problematic for my settings, is there any way to trigger the update shipping costs when ONLY billing state is modified?

    I have tried adding update_totals_on_change class to some field that didn’t help, I still have to enter both billing_city and billing_address_1 for the update to trigger.

    I also don’t want to hide costs until an address is entered.

    This would require more complex development. I’ll go ahead and leave this thread open for a while in case anyone else wants to chime in, but in the meantime, I can also recommend the following resources for more development-oriented questions:

    I also don’t want to hide costs until an address is entered.

    If you navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Options, you’ll see an option to Hide shipping costs until an address is entered. You’ll want to make sure this is unticked. Also, on the General tab, you can change the default customer location to the Shop Base Address so that it will return some shipping costs until the customer changes this with their address.
