updating woocommerce plugin and woothemes' sliding theme

    I have woocommerce 1.3 and sliding theme version 1.0.1 from woothemes, Now i got sliding theme version 1.2.4 and i have to update the team manually, but i fear i will crush my site, I want to update the theme manually and the plugin automatically. Please tell me how can i do that? without breaking anything, when i tried it on localhost i lost the product images, the featured products.
