• I updated the theme today and the site broke. The header broke into three large pieces and the slider no longer displays correctly but is stacked. Also, all the theme marketing is over the content.

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • The theme format is different. We’ve all been reporting bugs to get things fixed. I suggest you start by going through the recent posts on the forum and seeing if any of them fit your particular situation. For example, do you have a child theme?

Most of it is in there…just browse the recent posts. If you have something new, then post it. Romik is pretty quick.

no more Redux plugin, for one thing…

Thank you! Any idea how to get the marketing messages off of the content?

Update- I reverted to a previous backup and it’s fine- for now. I’ll definitely find another theme as this is a practically no-budget client and I can’t rebuild from scratch. What was really off-putting was all the theme messages that would have been appropriate on the dashboard displaying on the homepage for all users.

@markfrankel not sure which marketting message you meant. Please can you provide example?

    Hi Romik-

I’m impressed with you and your folks on this thread!

There were four boxes with Learn More buttons that were displaying on the front end of the home page. But also, the top banner had exploded- the search, hamburger and rss icons were huge, each in it’s own gray band so the header band was repeated three times, the slides were stacked, then the boxes mentioned above, then the page content. I could not figure out how to address any of it so reverted to a previous back up.

Hi. We all faced some messy things but now everything works OK. the big things like rss and social had to do with browser cache. CTRL+F5 empties the cache after changes.
In customizer check the custom front page items. check or uncheck what u need.

Thanks Nick. I tried all of that and nothing was working for me.

The truth is this is a very low budget client and their entire budget would have been eaten up if I spent the time trying to get the site back to where it was.

@markfrankel for me it sounds like plugin conflict, missing theme part, or child theme?

Steps to do in such cases:
    1. Clear Browser’s Cache
    2. Clear plugin’s cache, if you use such plugin (WP Super Cache…)
    3. If use a child theme, check its code if don’t need to update a code with a new one
    4. Check all installed plugins – deactivate one by one to determine the problem
