Hi guys, I have been pleased with yoast SEO, never had a problem before.

Today I updated to version 3.6 and multiple things broke on multiple sites

    1.
Trying to edit any page would either result in
    – a 500 – Internal Server Error
    – no buttons and controls on the editor
    – no custom field options and meta options below the main content eddito (like where the yoast options go), instead an error

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Access to undeclared static property: _WP_Editors::$mbling site… {main} thrown in /home/bitcoin7/staging/3/wp-includes/class-wp-editor.php on line 318

    2.
Going to the themes options loaded a normal admin page but the output was
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 805306368 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4295036928 bytes) in /home/bitcoin7/public_html/bit88.co/wp-content/plugins/redux-framework/ReduxCore/templates/panel/content.tpl.php on line 15

similar “allowed memory size” errors sprung up all over the place

    3.
The color customizer would not load, a page loaded but there was no color options on the left or preview on the right.

Deactivating yoast seo fixed all of these problems immediately. My theme is Uplift by Flexform who make a point of saying it is fully yoast SEO compatible.

  • Do you have W3 Total Cache installed (and updated to latest version! 0.9.4.5 or so)?

This combination doesn’t work on any of my sites and I have turned off Yoast SEO – which I don’t want. And looking at the latest official Yoast response on now fixed W3 Total Cache vulnerability gives an impression these two plugins will not work together for some time in the future.

    Please fix this.

I seem to be having the same issue. When I do a read-ability check with the eye tool, which is supposed to highlight the lines which are being pinged, it changes everything to html and removes the tool bar with header options and such. This is incredibly frustrating….

Sometimes strange behavior may be caused by a plugin or theme conflict. The fastest way to rule out conflicts is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Sixteen. If this resolves the issue, you have a conflict and should activate one plugin at a time until you locate the conflict. Finally, after all plugins are active, switch to your theme. This will narrow down the conflict to a specific plugin or theme.

If you are unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we wrote a small guide that will walk you through the steps. You can find it here: How To Check For Plugin Conflicts

Is it possible Adblock is involved?

“Do you have W3 Total Cache installed”

    Nope

“Is it possible Adblock is involved”

    Nope

@ Yoast support, it is 100% certainly a yoast <-> theme conflict. The maker of the theme, Swift Ideas, say they would be glad to work with y’all to resolve it…

The fastest way to rule out conflicts is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Sixteen.

Usually people cannot afford that on a live website. And very small website owners have a development/staging version of a website to test.

@whatwhatwhatwhat Can you please submit that to our GitHub repository for Yoast SEO? Thanks!

As the issue is a conflict with your theme, we highly recommend sending the GitHub issue to the development or support team your theme. The GitHub repository allows their development team to work directly with our development team.

If you have not submitted an issue previously, this guide will help you submit a complete report which may result in a faster resolution.

This is not resolved. The theme authors made a github issue 12 days ago

    https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/5761#issuecomment-251013700

which seems to have no activity on it. With the latest versions of Uplift (the theme) swift framework (theme authors framework) and yoast going to edit any page results in

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 805306368 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2203318222880 bytes) in /home/bitcoin7/public_html/bitace.co/wp-admin/admin-header.php on line 152

Then going to them options has given

    1.
    A 500 error

    2.
Warning: file_exists() expects parameter 1 to be a valid path, string given in /home/bitcoin7/public_html/bitace.co/wp-content/plugins/redux-framework/ReduxCore/inc/fields/typography/field_typography.php on line 950

    3.
    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined method ReduxFramework_typography::”,”name”:”Latin”},{“id”:”devanagari”,”name”:”Devanagari”}]},”Sail”:{“variants”:[{“id”:”400″,”name”:”Normal 400″}],”subsets”:[{“id”:”latin”,”name”:”Latin”}]},”Salsa”:{“variants”:[{“id”:”400″,”name”:”Normal 400″}],”subsets”:[{“id”:”latin”,”name”:”Latin”}]},”Sanchez”:{“variants”:[{“id”:”400″,”name”:”Normal 400″},{“id”:”400italic”,”name”:”Normal 400 Italic”}],”subsets”:[{“id”:”latin”,”name”:”Latin”},{“id”:”latin-ext”,”name”:”Latin Extended”}]},”Sancreek”:{“variants”:[{“id”:”400″,”name”:”Normal 400″}],”subsets”:[{“id”:”latin”,”name”:”Latin”},{“id”:”latin-ext”,”name”:”Latin Extended”}]},”Sansita One”:{“variants”:[{“id”:”400″,”name”:”Normal 400″}],”subsets”:[{“id”:”latin”,”name”:”Latin”}]},”Sarala”:{“variants”:[{“id”:”400″,”name”:”Normal 400″},{“id”:”700″,”name”:”Bold 700″}],”subsets”:[{“id”:”latin”,”name”:”Latin”},{“id”:”devanagari”,”name”:”Devanagari”},{“id”:”latin-ext”,”name”:”Latin Extended”}]},”Sarina”:{“variants”:[{“id”:”400″,”name”:”Normal 40 in?/home/bitcoin7/public_html/bit88.co/wp-content/plugins/redux-framework/ReduxCore/inc/fields/typography/field_typography.php?on line?120

For what it’s worth even going back to the old version of yoast seo that used to work (3.5) gives bugs (no visual editor) since the more recent versions of the theme and swift framework.
