Updating text in headers – top and (r) hand side

  • Hello,

    I need to change some text in my top header and also text down the (R) hand side of my website (address details).

    My web designer has disappeared – v. frustrating. Any help/advice would be appreciated as to how I can administer this myself.

  • Your version of WP is WordPress 2.0.2 – you need to upgrade. Can you logon with wp-admin?

    Yes, I can. I can do all the textual updates on each page; it’s the headers that I am unsure about.

    Log in to the dashboard, go to appearance, editor. You will see a list of files there. Make a copy of each before you change them. Look a page.php for the links across the top of your site.

    Check widgets and see if that is where the sidebar information is. If not you can use the above and check sidebar.php but most likely a text widget was used.
