• Hi, Thanks for the new version
issue on several metabox, Production and Localhost
No caching plugins active but Cloudfront CDN is enable on domain.
No issue updating text: Above Title or Above WYSIWYG.
    ———-
All other metaboxes need a disable re-enable cycle.
    Workflow
    Previously unused metabox message:
    Add text and enable checkbox Save;
Create New post: Metabox has the message text.
    Modify the text, Save
Create New Post ; Message in Publish Metabox is Missing ?
    check settings, OK
    Uncheck the Publish Message. Save
Verify with New Post that all the other messages are ok = Yes
In settings recheck Publish Message and Save
New Post : Publish message appears.
Same cycle workflow needed on all but Title and wysiwyg.
    ——-
Thinking are the pages cached somewhere?
Flushed Firefox and safari browsers : Waited One Hour, Production site , No better.
Flushed browsers and any server caches I could think of
& tested on localhost, Same issue.
Installed Chrome Browser – same issue, first tested on localhost then Production.

    Terry,

I have taken the steps you’ve outlined with three different post types on both a local install and a live one, and have not been able to replicate your issue. There is nothing built into this plugin that caches pages or data; all settings are simply saved in a simple array in a post_options table row (each post type gets its own row). That data is added to the add post page via javascript that only runs on that page. Nothing here would point to any problems like you’re having.

Your CDN shouldn’t be the culprit here, either.

I have tested this plugin with W3 Total Cache with database and object caching on, and have not experienced your issues. I’m fairly sure I followed your steps to reproduce to the letter, but may have missed something. Could you send me a screencast showing your issue, so I may better understand it?

    Thanks
    Sorry for the extra work.
Baffled? I still have the issue with two Sites hosted at “1and1”

The message I wish to use – Under the title is working fine.
    — I added a message to stop a common mistake with images, but still folks fail to read the Message and its advice…. ( Oh Humm… one can only try. ..).
    ______
100% ok on Domains hosted at Dreamhost
Tested with & with out Cloudfront activated.

    Marking as Resolved ??

    Terry,

Glad you got this working. Looks like you’ve found the issue is isolated to 1&1 hosting… they might be caching some resources on admin pages in an effort to save load for their underpowered servers. If I come across a way to bypass any caching like this, I will integrate it.

As for your clients not reading the advise… I may have a solution for you soon. About to release a plugin that forces users to add certain content before a page can be published. Some plugins out there already do this, but not very well. Mine strives to incorporate a strong UI and simple settings panel to enable/disable certain forced areas. Message me directly if you’d like to get it before its out to the public. Not sure if It’ll help you, though.

Thanks again, and Happy New Year!

    Dave
