• Hi, i have some post where I have almost 80 links to other sites
    https://www.franto.com/blog2/collected-links-to-maelstrom-examples
(new Flash player 8 examples), and when i add new link and press Save button, page is saving it looong time (30 minutes) and no still no finish. Post on my page is updated in few seconds, so I mean there is pinging sites which link to this post. But is it normal, that after 30 minutes updating is still not finished?
    Thanks

  • If you are attempting to publish a post with 80 links in them, yes your time to save and update will be very long.

I feel positive those 80 links are not all blogs that accept pings and as a result it would extend the time even more.

Turn off your ping function and your post speed will go back to normal.

i try remove ping server from OPTIONS:WRITINGS, but this didnt help me. Another option is do nto allow pings in POST, is this right option? till now, nothing help me, still it takes half an hour without result (but post is updated, only posting is not finished (progress bar for loading page)

What do you have specified for Options -> Writing -> Update Services ?

Pingomatic’s been running slow for me too lately, so that maybe part of the cause. I figure as long as my post gets saved and posted, I don’t really care how long it takes sometimes.

do you know another good and fast pinging server, because it’s problem that i have to w8 more then half hour to make some other things in admin ??

after about 20 seconds, I open another browser to look at my page and its posted even when the backend seems to be still loading. Its been this way for quite some time when I update my site.
